Harlem-1

Usually, when I walk around, I’m plugged into my iPhone listening to podcasts or music,
taking my usual surroundings for granted. In another city, everything is new.
I barely have my headphones in, preferring to grab tidbits of conversations or hear music new to me.
And everything catches my eye, from architecture and graffiti to street style and graphics.
Here’s a selection of what I saw.

The graffiti above is at a school that I visited on a ‘Birthplace of Hip Hop’ tour (recommended) which is changed every year. Every Summer it is painted over and, one day a year, DJ’s and graffiti artists make a day of it creating a new wall of art.
